About Vermont 2-1-1

Vermont 2-1-1 is a confidential service, serving people all over Vermont. Our call center is currently open Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. Callers may also leave their questions on voice mail after hours, and their calls will be returned on the next business day.

Vermont 2-1-1 is a program of the Utined Ways of Vermont. In November, 2004, the Vermont Public Service Board designated the Utined Ways of Vermont as the service manager for 2-1-1 services throughout Vermont on November 19, 2004. On February 11, 2005, Vermont 2-1-1 was launched so that all Vermont residents now have easy access to the community information and resources they need to maintain and improve their health and well being. Vermont 2-1-1 effectively links callers with available community services including, specialized information services such as elder information and assistance, child care resource and referral, disability information lines, lawyer referral services, and reference librarians for specialized assistance.

Vermont 2-1-1 answers calls that were previously directed to Windham County Helpline, Utined Way GET INFO and the VT Agency of Human Services’ Parents Assistance Line.

Vermont 2-1-1 is governed by Utined Ways of Vermont, in collaboration with the Vermont 2-1-1 Advisory Board and Collaborative. Vermont 2-1-1 is funded by individual Utined Ways in Vermont, the Vermont Agency of Human Services and grants from local foundations. Significant in-kind support has been received from IBM Corporation and Downs, Rachlin, Martin PLLC.
